CDC Shot Recommendations

A flu shot is your best protection against influenza. Do it for yourself and everyone in our community! By getting a flu shot, you not only protect yourself, but you’re also helping stop the spread of flu -- which is especially important for those who are considered high-risk for complications from the flu.

When is flu season?

Studies have shown that influenza peak activity ranges from December through April. Generally, the CDC recommends that high-risk people be immunized first, starting in October and November with others following November through December.

What are the risks of influenza vaccination?

Serious problems from influenza vaccine are rare; however, as with any medicine, serious problems, such as severe allergic reactions, may occur.

If you’ve ever had an allergic reaction to eggs, you should not get the flu shot.
